Air Duct Cleaning & Dryer Vent Cleaning Services

Air Duct Cleaning

Air Duct Disinfecting

Dryer Vent Cleaning

If your ducts are poorly maintained they are likely contributing to unhealthy air and higher energy bills.  This reason is why air duct cleaning is so important.  Every time an unclean system activates, you breathe dirt, dust, allergens and bacteria.

The main reason why HVAC systems need to be cleaned is because they accumulate dust!

  • Pet shed/dander, recent home renovations, moving into a new home (congrats!), pollen or allergy producing fauna nearby, current or a previous smoker, sensitive populations (young children and the elderly), home schoolers, stay at or work from home.  So many reasons for this to be on our radars and, more importantly, to do something about it.

If you find yourself nodding to these points, then it is likely that you will need an HVAC system cleaning.

The dirt that settles down in the ducts creates a breeding ground for molds, mildew and other harmful elements to cultivate.

As a member of the International Air Quality Association (IAQA) we know indications of IAQ problems in a home and need for HVAC duct cleaning services.

  • Excessive dust / “stuffy" rooms, some rooms feel hot or cold and the rest of the house feels comfortable, moisture on window panes, a mildew (musty) smell in your home, family members often sneeze.

Warning Signs of an Obstructed  Vent & Risk of Fire:

  • Clothes are taking longer than normal to dry.
  • Clothes come out of the dryer hotter than normal at the end of a standard drying cycle.
  • The flapper on your exterior dryer vent doesn’t open when the dryer is on.
  • Your dryer lint trap does not fit snugly (a loose fit will allow more lint into the vent).
  • You have a plastic or metal foil dryer vent hose.
  • Your dryer is located a long distance from the exterior dryer vent.
  • The route your dryer duct takes to get to the exterior dryer vent has many bends.
  • You wash a lot of clothes that have been soiled with flammable materials such as gas, motor oil, cooking oil, etc.

We can give you peace of mind by reducing the risk or dryer vent fire with our dryer vent cleaning services.  Did you know that after cooking mishaps, the next leading cause of a house fire is a clogged dryer vent?

Dryer vent cleaning isn’t just about getting the best performance from your dryer – its about safety.  This service is a necessary bit of maintenance that can prevent a home fire.

Air Duct Disinfecting

Air Duct Disinfecting

What is it and What Does it Do?

AirWell's Air Duct Disinfecting Service utilizes a disinfectant as well as a deodorizer that kills bacteria, viruses, fungus, mold, and mildew, in addition to eliminating odors.

Who Needs It?

  • Anybody with health concerns triggered by any of the above listed items, e.g. anyone with asthma allergies or weak immune systems.
  • Anyone who has had water damage.
  • Anyone trying to eliminate foul odors.
  • Anyone who has had an animal in their system.

How is it Applied?

  • The product is fogged directly into the duct system. We utilize a special fogger system that provides just the right amount of mist to coat the interior of your entire duct system.

What’s the Difference Between the

Disinfecting Service and the Cleaning Service?

  • Our air duct cleaning service removes contaminates from the system with mechanical agitation through whipping and vacuuming, which removes contaminants from the system using only air. Our air duct disinfecting treatment is applied after a cleaning to disinfect the duct system.

Air Filter Replacement Service

One of the most overlooked home maintenance tasks is replacing the air filter in your furnace. Many people go extended periods of time without even thinking about it.  Air filters play an important role in maintaining the quality of the air in your home or business - when its dirty, your air is dirty.  This is one of those things that is out of sight and out of mind but not without consequence if you let them go too long.  You have a lot of things to worry about and remembering to change the furnace air filter is no longer one of them.

Benefits

An air filter’s job is to protect your furnace and improve indoor air quality by removing all allergens, dust,

debris, and pollutants that your system takes in.   If left unattended, over time the filter builds up a heavy amount of debris and makes your entire system work harder and cycle much more frequently.  This requires more energy to keep the air moving, resulting in even higher utility bills.

To ensure peak efficiency of your system it is important that your filter be changed on a regular basis.

Process

Just like with our air duct or dryer vent cleaning services, we believe communication is very important.  We

will inform you of what you should expect from the process, when our technician will arrive, and so on.

  • Dirty filters are removed and placed directly into containment bags
  • We will take the old filter with us and handle disposal.
  • Install new, properly sized, air filter that is made in the USA.
  • ALL register covers inside your home are brushed and vacuumed with every filter change visit.
  • AirWell remembers when your filters need to be replaced and what type and size you need.
  • At your request, we can securely store your payment information to make future, no-contact filter replacements easy.

Cost

For homes and businesses within 15 miles of Utica the per-visit charge is only a $25 service fee plus the cost of your filter.   (There is a small mileage surcharge outside of 15 miles.)

As with AirWell’s air duct and dryer vent cleanings, with our air filter replacement service you never have to

worry about hidden costs or unexpected fees.  We’re up front, honest, and transparent about our pricing.

In business, no one likes surprises.

How often should your filter be replaced?

Following these general guidelines can help you determine how often you should have a new filter installed.

  • Vacation home or single occupant home with no allergies or no pets:  Every 6 months
  • Suburban family households without pets:  Every 3 months
  • Homes with pets:  Every 2 months
  • Homes with pets and pet allergies:  Every month
